Matt and Naomi are on the move!

Goodbye Kona!

An update on our lives to those in prayer and support of us!  Thank you for taking the time to read and prayer for us.

Goodbye Kona!

We left Kona for good on June 24th.  It was quite emotional for both of us moving away!  It has been our home for the past few years and has held so many huge life moments.  We have spent a lot of time reflecting on who we were when we first hopped off a plane for the first time.  The YWAM Kona base is such a transformational community that we are going to miss so much!  It is also the place we met many of our best friends, and most importantly, each other!  Our first date, our engagement, and the week before we left, we celebrated 3 years of being together!  We understand are are so grateful for how rare and amazing it is to be able to live in Hawaii surrounded by a Godly community where our occupation is telling people about Jesus.  It just does not get better than that!  We know, however, that it’s not about the geographical location, it’s about the friends and relationships.  That is why we are so excited about our next step!

August 5th!

We have officially locked in our apartment!  After this month in Oklahoma (mostly) we will move on August 5th!  We are so excited to move to Charlotte and see what God has in store for us and our organization!  Moving from Kona to North Carolina is about as far a move as you can do with in America, but it’s not too stressful when we can still fit both our lives into 3 checked bags!  This will be our first lease signed and apartment we have to furnish, so our lives are about to have a lot more stuff, ha ha!

There is so much expectation for our organization.   With this new plant with over 100 staff moving by September, 4 schools running in the next year, and countless new departments and ministries starting, there is good reason to be excited!  Matt has been happily taking up new roles in the transition and currently leading the Student Recruitment Department, meaning he has about 15 staff serving part time hours reaching out to leads and applicants with the goals of seeing each of the next 2 schools have over 100 students!  He heads to Anaheim California later this month running a booth at The Send (a three day conference expecting 16000 attendees).

“Youth Movements unto Least Reached Places”

one of our organization’s missions statements is “Youth Movements unto Least Reached Places”.  We wholeheartedly believe that the work we are doing will contribute to so many more missionaries to the unreached places of the world!

Our prayer requests

  • A smooth transition across the country

  • Prayer that God would continue to guide our organization’s leaders through so much strategy and decisions

  • Good Facebook marketplace furniture deals!

Thank you for your continued prayer and support!  It means the world to us.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”  Hebrews 12:1
